ADSA has been involved in liaising with the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) regarding certain changes involving dietitians. Most important of these have been the:

  • National Health Reference Price List
The development of the NHRPL (National Health Reference Price List) for dietitians, involving a time-billing structure as opposed to the previous "BHF rates" (billing per actual type of treatment / assessment done).

The latest NHRPL can be obtained from the Council for Medical Schemes website: www.medicalschemes.com

The CMS website lists any changes in policy with medical schemes new tariff structures and updates for health professionals rules for use of the current tariffs of all registered medical schemes and their details. Should you require any of this information please contact them directly.
  • ICD10 (Diagnosis) Codes
The implementation of ICD10 (diagnosis) codes which is now a legal requirement on all claims submitted to medical schemes for reimbursement. The ICD10 Short-List can be obtained from ADSA (this is currently under review by the ICD10 task team at the CMS).

Should you require any of this information please contact them directly.
