How to market yourself using the ADSA Pamphlet
This document contains all the information you will need to market yourself successfully with the ADSA pamphlet.
The ADSA executive has been asked to provide you with some ideas on how Dietitians can use the “If it’s About Nutrition Ask a Dietitian” pamphlet to market themselves. If you have used the pamphlet successfully and are willing to share your ideas, please send them to adsa@iafrica.com and we will include them in the bulletin. Please remember at all times that the blank space at the back of the pamphlet was especially designed for dietitians to include their contact details - be it a clinic stamp, hospital sticker, company stamp or business card.
Dietitians working in the community and for NGO’s can use the pamphlet to promote the profession in a primary health care setting. It is an ideal tool to motivate the role of the dietitian and nutrition in the management of disease states or for general healthy living in:
Dietitians working in food service management can display the pamphlet in the canteen. They can then stress that the menu of the unit is based on Food Based Dietary Guidelines and that by having a dietitian develop the menu the personnel or clients are ensured of variety and nutritional adequacy. In addition, they can advise that the dietitian is available should anyone require information on the suitability of the menu for allergies or certain conditions.
Dietitians working with the media can use the pamphlet to promote the advantages of using Registered Dietitians who can translate the latest scientific information into lay information thus ensuring their readership of the latest breakthrough information.
Consulting Dietitians can use the pamphlet as a marketing tool to introduce the potential client to the profession and the diverse abilities of a dietitian.
Dietitians working for private hospitals can use the pamphlet as a selling point to be added to the patient information packs. Highlighting the fact that correct nutrition could decrease their hospital stay, saving them money and improving their rate of recovery.
