ADSA/FLORA Award - Call for Nominations

ADSA is pleased to announce that it is calling for nominations for the 2006 ADSA/FLORA AWARD, which is made possible by support from Unilever South Africa Foods, the manufacturer of the Flora range of products.


The Biennial Award, which is valued at R3 000, is made to:

 

 

A DIETITIAN WHO OVER THE PAST FIVE YEARS HAS MADE AN OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION IN THE FIELD OF DIETETICS AND TO THE DIETETIC PROFESSION.

 

 

Only registered dietitians who are members of ADSA may enter or be entered for the ADSA/FLORA AWARD.

 

The winner will be announced at the Biennial Nutrition Congress in September 2006.

 

Entries should  be submitted not later than 30 June 2006. Late entries will not be considered.

Entries must be submitted by ADSA members, colleagues or employers.

 

Entries must consist of:

An abbreviated CV including name, address, business and home/cell phone numbers, a fax number and/or e-mail address.

A maximum of five pages, giving a motivation for the award.

If you are entering yourself, a letter of support for your entry from another full ADSA member must accompany your entry form.

If you are entering an ADSA member for the award, the person entered must give their agreement in writing.

No faxed entries will be accepted.

 

A multidisciplinary panel, appointed by the ADSA Executive Committee will be set up to judge the entries. Members of the panel may not enter or be entered for the award.

If this should occur, the panellist will be asked to stand down and a replacement will be chosen by the ADSA Executive Committee.

 

Criteria used in judging will include:

The ADSA member must have at all times upheld and promoted the mission and values of ADSA.

The work must have enhanced the dietetic profession and where possible ADSA itself.

Any other factors which the judges, in their exclusive discretion, deem to be appropriate and relevant to properly adjudicate the entries.

The decision of the judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
