Sunette Botha

Someone who is people-oriented, fun, a lover of the outdoors and who has a passion for seeing lives changed for the better. I completed my Bachelors of Dietetics degree in 2014 at the University of Pretoria where I also enjoyed being in one of the campus residences for four years. My community service year was completed at Letaba Hospital outside Tzaneen in the Limpopo province. There I enjoyed learning some of the local language and had much exposure to malnutrition. Thereafter I worked a year in Primary Health Care around the same area where I gained experience in the Growth monitoring programme and management of Chronic diseases of lifestyle. From 2017 I have ventured on to a private practice in Middelburg where a wide variety of dietetic services are delivered, including in-patients, out-patients, wellness and fitness. Since, I have also completed CDE training to improve on the management of the very relevant Diabetes Mellitus. Recently I have also developed an interest in weight loss with a lifestyle change approach. What excites me about dietetics is the philosophy that prevention is better than cure and I would like to see the value of the profession grow in South Africa.
