Nolene Naicker

Nolene Naicker is a registered dietitian and has completed a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics Degree at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She has also completed a Masters in Early Childhood Intervention Degree at the University of Pretoria. She has worked as a public service dietitian since the completion of her community service in 2005. She started her career at The Church of Scotland Hospital in Kwa-Zulu Natal where she spent 5 years as head of the Dietetics Department. This is where her passion and interest developed for the management and treatment of children with severe acute malnutrition. Thereafter, she served some time at Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital and focused on the nutritional management of patients presenting with HIV and AIDS. In 2011, she joined the Kwa-Zulu Natal Nutrition Directorate where she covered areas on the management of severe acute malnutrition, clinical nutrition and support in various other public health nutrition areas. This introduction to public health nutrition policy at a Provincial level sparked an interest in these very same issues at a National level. Thus, she transferred to the National Nutrition Directorate in 2012. She currently covers all clinical and dietetic related nutrition issues and supports various other public health nutrition areas at the National Nutrition Directorate.
